My website host said I'm overdue to write a blog post.

Generally speaking, people don't read these posts, but Wix insists they are crucial to maintaining my site traffic. So here we go - let's talk about what's new at Central Ohio Music. And in case you were wondering, I will be making liberal use of Wix's built-in AI image generator, but the results will be so convincing, you would never know unless I told you.
We are going be having extended hours during the London Rhythm and Rib Fest this week. We'll be open Friday and Saturday until 9 PM. We'll be giving away some promotional items, demoing products, and I'll be doing free guitar lessons all day, so feel free to stop by - we're just two blocks west of the main stage.

We are also raffling off a guitar this weekend. All money goes to the London Music Boosters, who raise funds for London City Schools band and choir programs. Tickets are just $10 each and you can buy as many as you like. The winner gets their choice of a Guild OM-320 acoustic guitar or Cordoba C3 classical guitar, each a $299.99 value. Not a bad way to support your local music programs.

We are now a dealer for Orange Amplification. It's pretty exciting to have these in stock. Apart from being well-made and sounding great, Orange amps have a serious cool factor to them. Their tube amps are legendary, but Orange is also one of the few companies committed to building really good quality analog solid state amps. Their solid state Super Crush 100 puts a lot of tube amps to shame and is versatile enough to play any genre of music. It doesn't hurt that is is half the cost of many tube amps. Orange is also revered for their guitar cabinets, in particular their UK-made 2x12 is one of the best guitar speaker cabinets on the market. They are built to last a lifetime and out out a sound that is both full and articulate. Unlike a 4x12 cabinet, a 2x12 will also fit in nearly any vehicle, making it a more practical option for most guitarists.

Earlier this month, Jessi and I had the pleasure of playing in the orchestra for Madison County Arts Council's production of "Oklahoma!" It's always a treat to play for musicals, and the Arts Council shows are always well done. The cast did an incredible job. Our voice teacher, Faith Solon, did an amazing job as Aunt Ellar - she stole more than a few scenes. The singing, dancing, and acting across the board were great and the the sets and costumes were beautifully done. There's a lot of work that goes into doing community theater, and a great deal of it is done on a volunteer basis. Madison County is really fortunate to have so many hardworking and talented people put on these shows every year, and I'm glad I get to be a part of it.
Well, that's about it for now. I'd write more but I need to keep up the pretense that I have better things to do.
Until we blog again,
Matt
