New at the shop - June/July 2026

We have some exciting new items at the shop this summer. First up is the brand-new HalfLife pedal from Earthquaker Devices. This is the compact version of the LifePedal designed in collaboration with the band Sunn 0))). As any fan of Sunn 0))) would expect, the HalfLife is capable of insanely thick fuzz textures. Combined with its substantial output volume, this pedal delivers howling, overblown tones with near infinite sutatin and feedback through any amp. The good folks at Earthquaker Devices designed this pedal with a surprising degree of versatility, however. Aside from conjuring tinnitus-inducing sonic doom, the HalfLife can evoke quirky early 60's buzzing fuzz sounds, grungy 90's distortion, overdrive, and even function as a clean volume boost. The adjustable octave-up feature gives the HalfLife a cutting treble that can be dialed in on top of it's burly, bassy distortion - this makes the HalfLife a great choice for bass players looking for thick fuzz tones that won't get buried in the mix.
First released in 2025, the Icon basses are Spector's newest series of instruments. Priced below Spector's Euro basses, the Indonesian-made Icon basses offer pro-level quality and authentic Spector features at a more affordable price. These basses feature a high-mass bridge, brass nut, active Agular electronics, three-piece maple neck, Spector crown fingerboard inlays, and gold plated hardware. Current prices on the Spector Icon basses are $1199.99 for four-string models, and $1299.99 for five string models, which makes these a whole lot of bass for the money. One thing that sets the Icon basses apart from Spector's previous offerings at this price point is the fully contoured and arched NS body shape - which is the same as the body shape found on the Spector Euro and USA basses. Sterling by Music Man
We have a bunch of new guitars and basses from Sterling in the shop, with several more on the way. One particulary exiting instrument is the Sting Ray Short Scale. While most short scale basses are either entry-level intruments intended for children or are somewhat quirky "vintage" styled basses, the StingRay Short scale is a mid-priced, modern style bass, which will feel and sound instantly familiar any used to playing a full-scale StingRay. The 30" scale length offers reduced string tension and and easy left-hand playing experience. The compact size also makes this a great choice for playing seated, as the first position notes are very easy to reach. We have a variety of full-scale basses in stock as well, in both four and five string configurations. Be sure to check back with us next month, as we also have some exciting new Sterling guitars on the way, including a baritone and a seven string.
Another brand new product for 2026 is the Supergrace Loudpedal from Laney. This is the latest addition to Laney's Loudpedal series of pedalboard amplifiers. Designed in collaboration with The Smashing Pumpkins' Billy Corgan, it consists of a solid state preamp mated to a 60 watt solid state power amp capable of driving an 8 or 16 ohm speaker cabinet. The preamp has two channels - the first is based on Laney's legendary Supergroup amplifier from the late 60's, and the second is based on a high-gain Carsten Grace amplifier. Each channel may be augmented by a built-in footswitchable boost and digital reverb. The Supergrace also features an XLR direct out with impulse responses, making it capable of sending a speaker-simulated signal to the front-of-house mixing board for live performance or to an audio interface for recording, all without having to mic a guitar cab. The tones from the Supergrace are great - easily some of the best tones available in a solid-state device, and better than many of the tube amps on the market. Fans of Black Sabbath's early tones will not be disappointed by the Supergroup channel. The Supergrace is an attractive all-in one gigging and recording solution for any guitarist, and an excellent addition to Laney's current range of Loudpedals.
